Professional Identity Statement
From Chengdu to Brisbane, my schooling and previous teaching experience have made me clearly aware that I am a cross-cultural bridge connecting the present and the future of language learners. In my understanding, language is not only a tool, but also a passport to the cultural world. As a master of Applied Linguistics with rich online teaching experience, I will always be committed to helping students break through language barriers, build their confidence and help them achieve cross-cultural communication.

Professional Brand Statement
I am a student-cantered language teacher with dual educational backgrounds in China and Australia. I have not only received systematic and exam-oriented education in China, but also deeply experienced Australia's teaching philosophy of encouraging speculation and student leadership. I am good at combining critical thinking, cross-cultural awareness and language teaching. During my undergraduate and master's degree, I learned a very systematic knowledge of educational theory. At the same time, I also had practical teaching experience, especially in English teaching and examination guidance for teenagers. I believe that the real influential education comes from the keen insight into the needs of learners, the flexible use of teaching methods and the long-term investment in the growth of students. This also makes me have the characteristics of accomplished scholar and a connected citizen.
Strengths, Passions, and Values
I have taught online English classes of Cambridge PET in Xueersi before. The students are children from different regions of Chinese Mainland, some from mountains and some from big cities. Their learning bases are quite different. I have found that relying solely on a fixed set of teaching methods is not enough to guide them, so I will break down the course into modular forms. For some students who are more suitable for visual memory, I will prepare mind maps for them, while for those who are more logical, I will ask them to summarize the rules of question types with me. This process has made me an educator with culturally capable skills.


I have always enjoyed interacting with students, especially the feeling of mutual learning and inspiration. In 2018, I participated in a two-month volunteer education project in Wanyuan City, Chinese Mainland, and that experience had a great impact on me. Although the teaching conditions are very limited, and the children there cannot even afford to teach extracurricular books, I still try my best to make the children like English. I will use homemade small cards, games, and stories to liven up the atmosphere of the entire classroom. Seeing them happy because of a simple word game, I also truly appreciate the significance of teaching not only in imparting knowledge, but also in igniting students' interest in learning. Later, while studying at UQ and teaching at Xueersi, I also continued this student-cantered philosophy. So I believe that in language teaching, we should not only focus on the accuracy of language, but also stimulate students' motivation to express themselves in real contexts. This spirit of pursuing innovation and practice reflects the characteristics of graduates with courageous thinking
I am a language learner myself, and English is not my native language. I attach great importance to empathy, tolerance, and progress, and always strive to create a safe and friendly classroom atmosphere where students are willing to express themselves and dare to try. I have always believed that a good teacher is not just about how many questions students answer correctly, but about whether they can make students feel at ease, understood, and confident in expressing themselves in class. So when I prepare for class, I pay special attention to leaving room for students to express themselves, and I also use more positive feedback when giving feedback. At the same time, I also insist on self-growth, regularly participating in language education lectures, reflecting after class, and constantly adjusting teaching methods. This habit of self-leadership and continuous development also reflects my side as a respectful leader.
What Makes Me Unique
My biggest advantage is the ability to integrate Chinese and Western educational concepts, combining the logic, creativity, and inclusiveness of traditional teaching. I strive to become an influential communicator in classroom teaching, academic discussions, and teaching content creation. My path of cross-cultural learning and teaching has not only enriched my classroom practice but also built my professional identity. In the future, I hope to continue to make efforts in language education, curriculum design, and cross-cultural communication, helping more learners become confident, capable, and responsible individuals.
